Treeline Big National Sketch Quest – Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the Treeline Big National Sketch Quest (“Competition”). By entering, participants and their guardians agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
- The Competition is open to learners aged 9 to 18 years old at the time of entry.
- Participants must be residents of South Africa.
- Employees of Treeline, their immediate families, and affiliated agencies are not eligible to enter.
2. Competition Period
- Entries Open: 1 November 2025
- Public Voting: 19 January 2026
- Finalists Announced: 30 January 2026
The winning design will feature on Treeline Exam Pads for a production of 200,000 copies, with the possibility of reprints.
3. How to Enter
- Learners must create an original design (draw, sketch, or illustrate).
- Only one design per learner is allowed.
- Entries must be uploaded via the official competition entry form on Treeline’s website.
- All required information must be completed in full (name, age, school, and parent/guardian contact details).
- Entries will appear in the public voting gallery after approval.
- No purchase is necessary to enter the Competition.
4. Design Requirements
- All entries must be the original work of the participant and needs to be portrait.
- The winning design must be redrawn by the winning learner at Treeline’s Studio Showroom in February 2026 for final production purposes.
- By entering, participants agree that Treeline may reproduce, adapt, and use their submitted designs for promotional purposes, including social media, websites, and marketing materials.
- Designs containing any political, religious, or discriminatory content of any kind will be immediately disqualified.
5. Judging Process
- Top 20 finalists will be announced on the 19 th January 2026. The Top 20 are voted by public- the 20 entries with the highest votes qualify as the top 20.
- Teeline judges will then pick the top 5 and announce Top on the 23rd if January 2026
- Public will vote and the entry with the highest vote will be announced as the winner on the 30th of January
6. Prizes
Grand Prize:
- R10 000 for the winning learner.
- R10 000 for the winning learner’s school.
- A Treeline Stationery Hamper valued at R1 500.
Runners-Up:
- Four (4) additional Treeline Hampers for runner-up entries.
Prize Payment:
- Prize money will be paid via EFT once the student or guardian provides a valid ID and proof of banking letter.
- Payment will be made within 7 working days of the winner being announced.
Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash (unless otherwise stated).
7. Environmental Impact Commitment
For every 50 valid entries received from a school, Treeline will plant a lemon tree at that school.
If there is a shortage or quality concern with lemon trees, Treeline reserves the right to replace it with a similar species or donate one on the school’s behalf as part of the Back to Your Roots movement.
8. Parental Consent & Publicity
By submitting an entry, parents/guardians consent to:
- Treeline posting their child’s entry and/or winner announcement on official Treeline social media channels.
- The learner’s name and surname being displayed on the competition website for public voting purposes.
- Treeline using the winner’s name, surname, and entry for marketing, publicity, and promotional purposes related to the Competition, without further compensation.
9. Intellectual Property & Usage Rights
By entering the Competition, participants (and their guardians) grant Treeline a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, publish, adapt, and display their designs in any media for promotional and marketing purposes.
The winning design will be used on Treeline Exam Pads as part of the 2026 product range for the agreed production quantity.
10. General Conditions
- Treeline reserves the right to verify the eligibility of participants.
- Treeline reserves the right to disqualify any participant suspected of breaching these Terms.
- Treeline is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries.
- Treeline may cancel, modify, or suspend the Competition in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
